Melbourne based artist Jacquline Smith, works under the pseudonym Auf Wiedersehen. From beautifully illustrated Shy Girls and delicate commissioned portraits, to Tiny Landscapes and Gatherer Brooches crafted by her freakishly talented hands, Jacqui is on another level. Favouring greylead pencil and watercolour, her work focuses on landscapes, shy girls, her love of Iceland and wherever her mind and memories might take her. Projects with Stay Home Club, Odd Collective, Signed and Numbered, Mörk Chocolate and the wonder that was Huldufólk, add to her beautiful catalogue of work which continues to grow. 2014 saw Auf Wiedersehen in her first solo show Marks We Make. Featuring her Shy Girls like they've never been seen, along with carefully considered wall hangings delicately embroidered and painted. It was brave and oh so beautiful. And with her creative concept space Enough in partnership with Laura Rose Main now open in Melbourne, big exciting things are most certainly on their way. You'll find Shy Girl brooches to treasure and wear proudly HERE
